DENTAL FAIR AT PORTLAND FAMILY SOLUTIONS

Portland Homeless Family Solutions’ Family Village Shelter (PHFS) is an organization that provides services to homeless families and youth. We had the great privilege to set up a dental fair where we provided educational games, experiments, food and dental hygiene supplies to children.

Our student president set up presentations to students about oral health while some of us reached out to our college community to promote our profession to students looking for a career path
ADHA NATIONWIDE VIDEO COMPETITION WINNERS!
The ADHA put on a video competition for students throughout the country to represent their college in a 4 minute video with the theme "Busting Myths about Dental Hygiene." As creator, director, and editor, and the help from a fellow student as writer and narrator, I was absolutely elated when we won the 1st place prize of $2000 and the opportunity to showcase our class at Portland Community College.
